FRENCH  NAPOLEONIC 1815 RANGE
The larger, more simply designed, tricolour flag: made its first appearance for the Waterloo campaign. A single Eagle and flag was carried by the first battalion of each Infantry regiment and by the first squdron of each cavalry regiment. Although most units were issued with new Eagles and flags before the campaign, Light regiments of both infantry and cavalry were ordered to leave theirs at the regimental depot. This order was not always obeyed. I have produced standards for all regiments (most ranges of figures have standard bearers) the choice is yours.

PRUSSIAN INFANTRY 1813-1815
Codes PR 71 to PR 81 contain flags for both 1st and 2nd battalions of each regiment. Codes PR 82 to PR 84 have flags for two Grenadier battalions. In 1814 the Grenadier battalions were formed into “Garde Grenadier”  Regiments:
Leib Grenadier Bttn. became the 1st Bttn.Kaiser Alexander Garde Grenadier Regt.
1st East Prussian Grenadiers became the 2nd Bttn. Kaiser Alexander Garde Grenadier Regt.
2nd East Prussian Grenadiers became the Fusilier bttn. Kaiser Alexander Garde Grenadier Regt.
Pommeranian Grenadiers became the 1st bttn.Kaiser Franz Garde Grenadier Regt.
West Prussian Grenadiers became the 2nd bttn. Kaiser Franz Garde Grenadier Regt.
Fusilier bttn. Kaiser Franz Garde Grenadier Regt.

Not much is known of the flags carried by the Landwehr and Reserve battalions. There was no official issue to these units, but some, if not all, carried a flag with either the cross or eagle device in the centre: usually accompanied bu a patriotic slogan. It is believed that the Sileaian units used their state crest. I have assumed that the Pommeranians and Brandenburgers would have followed this practice. The flags would have been painted or even embroidered by wives and mothers and often presented to the troops by the Mayors of their home towns. There were no regulations to govern them, so each flag would have been an interpretation of the eagle or cross of Prussia.

AUSTRIAN NAPOLEONIC INFANTRY 1792 to 1815
Three different patterns were issued during this period: 1792, 1804, and 1806. The older flags continued to be carried until they were worn out, It is quite possible that a combination of all three patterns would have been seen in the later campaigns; some altered to conform to new regulations. others as they were issued.

Codes A 1 to A 5 have one Leibfahnue and one Ordinarfahne. A 6 has two Ordinarfahnen, as Grenz regiments did not carry their Leibfahne in the field.
